You can now track your laptop in case it gets lost or stolen by using a free software called Adeona. Basically Adeona is an Open Source software that sends the server to the location of where your laptop is. What’s even cooler is that if you have a Mac, you even have the option to capture pictures of the laptop user or thief using the built-in iSight camera.
To download Adeona, open up your web browser and do a Google search for Adeona. It should take you to Adeona’s homepage. Then proceed to download and install the file. Upon installation it will have you enter in a password and once the registration is done, every thirty minutes it will start sending to their server the location of your laptop. After downloading and installing, you will see an ost file on your desktop. Don’t delete this file, as you will need it to log in in future.
