Management gurus and their disciples, thinkers, strategists and business process re-engineers have been busy propelling the modern world into not only coping with, but also keeping in step with the rapid changes of an ever shrinking, increasingly competitive and exhaustingly demanding global market.
I am told that a goldfish cannot remember anything beyond a 3 minute time frame. One of my favorite pastimes is to sit and watch our goldfish swim around lazily and rising up only to gobble at the food before going back to their contented existence.
Their swimming around actually reminds me of chil
There are many areas to look at in communication: a message is communicated through visual, vocal and verbal means. From that, comes the importance of body language, how we present ourselves, and so on. The visual and vocal elements are indeed very important to effective communication, but we will
The arbiter of knowledge and skills, the teacher, is a revered figure around the world. In India, the teacher is known as the guru, the wise one who can be trusted to lead the knowledge-blind and shine the light of competence and skills in the darkness of ignorance and incompetence.

1. There are no rules.
Structures, how-to's, dogma, principles...all disciplines and theories should be used to support your freedom and independent thinking. Curiosity is exponentially more powerful than playing by the rules.
2. Say thank you.

Have you ever wondered how certain couples were able to stay together for many years? What are they doing right? What are the factors that contribute to the success of healthy, long term relationships? There are a few fundamental components that will improve your chances of having a successful relat
I stay in the coastal city of Chennai and one of my favorite pastimes is to explore the coastline that borders one side of the city.
Starting from the crowded marina and Eliot’s Beach to the less crowded and secluded ones that dot the East Coast Road (or ECR as it is called), I have always found
"Depression was, indeed, the hand of a friend trying to press me down to the ground on which it was safe to stand--the ground of my own truth, my own nature with its complex mix of limits and gifts, liabilities and assets, darkness and light." Parker Palmer

Many a time we are swept by that overwhelming feeling to bare all. Not to be mistaken with confession which is done after ensuring that there is nothing further to lose on account of reputation. I am referring to pure tear jerker stuff. Born out of righteous indignation. Or plain stupidity. The form
One mile south of Georgia O'Keefe's beloved Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, thirteen miles down a cliff-hugging dirt road in the heart of Chama Canyon, you will find Christ In The Desert. The Benedictine Monastery is cloister to about twenty monks. I'd fantasized about retreating to the remote monastery
Why your new-year resolutions would not stick byGuest Tickler
Some people won't even make New Year's resolutions anymore. Not because they don't want to improve their lives, but because they've tried and failed so many times, they've given up. It's not the resolution maker who's the failure, it's the methodology we've been using to try and bring about radical change in our lives.
Heal Your Relationships to Heal Yourself byChitra Jha
It has been rightly said that this world is a mirror. It reflects back our inner/true reality to us. As within, so without. Everything in our life; our job, our economic condition, our dwellings, and the people in our life reflect one or the other aspect of our reality.

My Top Resolution for 2010 byGuest Tickler
I'm not that great at keeping New Year's resolutions, but this one is going to stick - I promise. I resolve to wipe the F word "fair" from my vocabulary, from my thinking, from my emotions.
Make 2010 the Year of Your Life! byGuest Tickler
Given the current economic condition in the US, 2010 could become the year that Americans have to look at their lives in a totally new way. If they stay focused upon their finances, like the economy they may spend a good part of the year, if not all of it, receding into a depression and not living their lives fully at all.
My New Year resolution: Healing the ‘split personality’ byPriyanka Thakur
The new year is here. What amazes me most is the practice of making resolutions at the start of the year. I really admire those who strictly follow their resolutions, though I am myself extremely poor in these things.
New year resolutions that will never fail! byDerek Cheshire
This sounds like a pretty wild claim but I never have trouble sticking to my New Year resolutions because I never make them! This sounds like a cop out but just think about it for a moment.
Be careful of what you dream in 2010 byKeith A. Shaw
My high-school football coach, Coach “Pic” would tell us this every day in his motivational speech as we prepared for the upcoming game. His goal was to get each of us to create a mental picture of what we wanted to do – individually and as a team.
Set No Wake-Up Calls in 2010 byRachana Sharma
The countdown for the New Year has started. Immature persons are thinking hard to decide on a remarkable New Year resolution which can transform their life in a night and experienced persons like us, who are guilty-ridden about breaking their resolutions every year, are working seriously on the reasons of failure and finding a failure-proof resolution.
2010 byAbhijit bhaduri
It is that time of the year when I avoid meeting people. Everyone wants to know about your New Year resolutions. This question just forces me to lie through my teeth just so that I remain politically correct and acceptable to my loved ones.

How To Survive The Recession, Then Fail The Recovery byPeter A. Hunter
Is this BA management completely misreading the way that the workforce feel about the company they work for? Or is this a cynical manoeuvre by management to deflect the blame for the failure of the company?

What shall be my resolves for this year? byPK
The festive season of Christmas is upon us. As they say we shall all be goaded to unwrap our personas and let the cheerful, forgiving, outgoing and loving side of us, come out in the open. The western media has done such a good job at hyping this period that even slothful individuals do rake up enough energy to unglue their backsides and stand up to be counted.

How To Get People To Do What You Want- Without Telling Them What To Do byPeter A. Hunter
The workforce are accustomed to management setting unachievable targets and management are accustomed to the workforce failing to achieve their targets, never once doubting that the failure is the fault of the workforce and not the fault of management for setting the target in the first place.

"God Is Whatever You Want It To Be" byGuest Tickler
Who is God’s God?
Andre: It is a circular reference .... well for me there is no proven God. So if I can't prove the first one I can't even begin to theorize further. But interestingly enough I have observed too that most things in life follow a cycle including animals, plants, the planets etc. This makes me think that existence must be cyclical too. It is only human beings who see everything to have a beginning and an end; maybe we are finite-focused and not able to understand anything else ?
